Sample Schedules

A Week in the Life of a REACH Student

As a personalized learning option for students, schedules are built to meet the needs of each student. A combination of self-guided learning, work experience, small group instruction, and post-secondary counseling will be provided to each student, scheduled in collaboration with the advisory teacher. As students move through the program, schedules may change, but will always reflect the developing needs of each student. What follows are some examples of student options and schedules, built to meet the specific needs of each learner.

The three sample schedules below are examples of potential student schedules based on age, credit standing, and skill level. Our goal is to show you the variability of schedules for students with different needs. Part of the flexibility that comes in REACH’s model is that students might work on only two to four courses at a time, as opposed to six or seven. This allows students to focus on courses needed and achieve credits at their own pace, untied to the traditional semester-long course schedule. Every student also has advisory time with their lead teacher to help guide them through their weekly coursework and schedule.

The schedules below include time on campus (grey blocks) and off campus (orange blocks). The off-campus learning and homework might be done in the time blocks shown, or early in the morning, or during the evenings, whatever time fits the life needs of each student.
